The Los Angeles Chargers’ minicamp practices are underway and unfortunately wide receiver Mike Williams has already gone down due to a back injury, however, the Chargers may have some camp surprises that could help soften future injury blows.
Chargers wide receiver Geremy Davis and cornerback Mike Davis have been making noise, according to Chargers coach Anthony Lynn.

If this is true, then Los Angeles fans should be exhaling a sigh of relief. The Chargers boast great wide receivers Mike Williams and Keenan Allen, but both have their fair share of past injuries.
Therefore, Davis will add solid depth when the inevitable happens and Allen or Williams goes down for a few games.
In regards to defense, the corner position is surrounded by uncertainty.
Chargers cornerback Casey Hayward is great, but the other two starting positions are held by injury prone or inconsistent players, Chargers cornerbacks Trovon Reed and Jason Verrett (only 24 games played in three seasons).
Just like the other Davis, Mike Davis could provide depth to make sure the Los Angeles season doesn’t collapse from one unfortunate injury.
