The Los Angeles Chargers had a tough 2016 season, only winning five games, but have some exciting young pieces for the future.

The three best players from last year, per Pro Football Focus, were Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa, cornerback Casey Hayward and linebacker Melvin Ingram. All three of them are great young players who should be dominating in the Chargers’ uniform for the foreseeable future.

It is also great news, for Los Angeles has some of the most important positions locked down on defense. They have a shutdown cornerback in Hayward and two elite edge rushers in Ingram and Bosa.

Not on the list, but crucial to the team’s future success, are Chargers linebackers Jatavis Brown and Korey Toomer who will shore up any worries at the position.

On offense, they still have Chargers future Hall of Fame quarterback Philip Rivers and a skilled receiving group that Rivers will take advantage of.

For the first time in a while, Los Angeles has talent all over the field and should push for a playoff spot in 2017.
