Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is close to signing a new deal with Oakland worth about $25 million per year, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Raiders and Derek Carr are close to finalizing a deal expected to pay their quarterback about $25 million per year, per league sources.

The expected deal would make Carr the highest paid quarterback in the NFL, based upon average salary. Carr would just be ahead of Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck who has an average salary of $24.6 million.
Without a doubt, the money is well deserved as the Raiders go from a Super Bowl contender with Carr to, most likely, a four-win football team without him.
Overall, it is a great move by the organization to lock him up long-term as he is the lifeblood of the entire Raider organization.
