The AFC West, without a doubt, is the best division in football and is only getting better. A major reason for the division’s recent success is each team’s ability to force turnovers.

According to Bleacher Report’s Doug Farrar, the AFC West possesses four of the top-10 ball hawks in the NFL, which includes Oakland Raiders safety Reggie Nelson at No. 2.

Nelson had five interceptions last season and has had 17 over the last three years, which is the most in the NFL during that three-year period.

In addition, Nelson’s two-year, $8.5 million contract was a major bargain for Oakland as Nelson brought an invaluable veteran perspective to the defense and was still able to be an elite ball-hawking safety deep down the field.

Overall, the Raiders’ organization is now a Super Bowl contender for the first time in over a decade thanks to Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie consistently finding incredible bargains like Nelson.
